This was the pilot project undertaken by Metro Millennium Sdn Bhd in Republic of Maldives. The Fish Processing Plant consisted of a gross build-up area of 5,000 sq ft, with Metro Millennium appointed as the Turnkey Design & Build contractor for the whole fish processing facility. Our contract scope included the design & build concept; on-site building and civil works; full mechanical and electrical services; as well as the supply, installation and testing & commissioning of cool room’s equipments and related facilities.
Our strong dedication and commitment had enabled us to complete the project within time and performance in April 2005, despite the consequential impact of the unforseen natural disaster of Tsunami affected our job site in December 2004. Our project team have successfully demonstrated their professionalism and capacities in dealing with the cross border project execution and management obstacles such as the logistic issues, machineries and equipments support matters as well as in handling the communication barriers in training and supervising the local skilled and unskilled workers to complete the projects without compromising our work quality.
This model house was the product of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Planning And National Development, Republic of Maldives and Metro Millennium Sdn Bhd in March 2005, initiated by Metro with the intention to propose an immediate solution for the Tsunami Reconstruction Program to the government of Maldives. The model house comprised of an actual build-up area of 86 sq meters, complete with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was based on the pre-fabricated modular house concept to leverage the construction time and thus enhance the total value for money.
Metro had successfully completed and hand over the model house in 14 days to the Ministry in March 2005. Metro’s project team capabilities were fully revealed and demonstrated in this project whereby we had successfully completed the building of a new modular house in a short time frame, with full involvement in every facet of the building of the model house, commenced from the stage of architectural designs, site demarcation, building and civil works, full mechanical and electrical services, as well as the final interior design and furnishing of the house.

The scope of works comprises of turnkey design and build, inclusive of integrated mechanical and electrical services. We completed and delivered the building within 8 weeks from the site possession of this pre-fabricated multi purpose hall. Our project team integrity and professionalism is proven with our accomplishment to cope with the client requirement and ex-site challenges.
One of the major challenges was the change in project site to new location and new layout in short notice prior to job commencement. These include changes and revision in the architectural drawings, site demarcation, building and civil works. The challenges were dealt in a dynamic and efficient manner, and finally the project is delivered with quality and we are blessed with customer’s satisfaction.

Current Projects

To provide technical expertise and professional workmanship and supervision for the erection of single storey houses in the said Atoll. This is a project under the National Tsunami Rebuilding Program organised by the Ministry of Planning and Development, Republic of Maldives. We are dedicated to the job and we invested and provide our project team with full range of necessary machineries, equipments, tools and materials at site, to support and enhance our work effectiveness and efficiency.
